Refeeding Belly

You guyyyyys..........how is it even possible for a person to be so. damn. bloated? I think every calorie I've eaten in the past month has gone exclusively towards expanding my stomach. A whole army of angry lil calories, marching down and setting up camp. OCCUPY KAYLEE'S BELLY. I know it's biology or whateva and I should have been prepared for this, but ugh. Still sucks.

Do yoga pants count as "business casual?"

  1. Don't think about feeling bloated. There's no possible way that every calorie goes straight to your belly, as you put it. The food you are eating nourishes every part of your body. Instead of focusing on feeling the way you do right now, think of how your body is saying it is content and happy at how you are keeping it healthy.

  2. I empathize. "The only way out is through," right?

  4. I'm in the same boat as you and it's not fun or comfortable. It's just part of the process I guess, eventually things will even out. Don't let this make you take steps back! Things will be amazing soon....hopefully right?

  5. ^^^I second Laura. Oooh this sucks, but the only way to beat it is to keep moving forward, because if you restrict or slide backwards you just prolong the process. And I promise you that it seems way, way more noticeable to you than to anyone else on the planet; I'd be shocked if anyone you see daily has even noted anything.

Hang in there, you deserve every reward waiting for you on the other side of this journey.

  6. No fun to feel that way! But I agree with the other comments that it's most certainly a perception, rather than reality, and that pushing forward will ultimately bring health and happiness. I, too, feel lumpy and yucky, but I have to keep reminding myself that what I see in the mirror likely isn't reality, but my emotions messing with my perception.

    You can do this!

  7. Dresses (esp wrap ones- banana repub often has some crazy sales on their wear to work ones) are your friend!! They don't wrinkle, they're machine washable, totally goo for business casual or a night event and they don't dig in at your stomach. plus the flowly fabric is über flattering/fem, but for me the perception of ginormous refeeding belly was definitely dampened when I didn't have a waistband. Bonus: they'll fit well over a range of weights. I bought some in early refeeding and while they fit/look better now they worked then too because they're so adjustable.

  8. I'm also super prone to bloating so trust me, I feel your pain!! I keep a pair of stretchy pants that look professional (they are like spandexy, but work pant material? Not sure how that was even accomplished, but Ann Taylor did it!) that are too large for me most of the time (like, fall off my body large!) just for these occasions. If you see me in my blue pants, it's because I'm bloated. Also, dresses rock, and flowy tops that allow you to unbutton your pants while seating being noticed :) Not that I ever do that...

    HANG IN THERE!!!!!
